Can She Do It (All)?

My answer will always be YES but not at the same time! I have been so focused on the Sandra project that I have really neglected the blog. There are just not enough hours in the day! It really ups the level of respect and admiration that I have for my favorite bloggers-- they do projects AND they find the time to blog about it. WOW!

Just about everyday, my plan is to complete X,Y and Z. Short, sweet.. .to the point. But! I can't say, that I ever would have thought this project would take so long! I will say that I have improved my skills ten fold, including my patience level and having Sandra to offer advice or just listen to my vents, has been well worth it.

Here is the latest update from Sandra and it's from the end of April (oops, sorry to keep you out of the loop) so I can proudly say, I am much further along than this. How much further? You will have to wait and see-- I believe an update will be coming soon!

Happy Home Opener Day to the Colorado Rockies! This is their 20th Anniversary, exciting stuff! You know what else is exciting? Baseball production-- seriously this is really cool! Did you know it take a whole week to make one baseball! If you have ever seen the inside of a baseball, you might not be surprised. Maybe that is why those folks are always scrambling to catch the fly ball!
Have you ever caught a fly ball or know someone who did? It's usually a great story, please share!

Learn HTML- Can She Do It?

I have so many ideas dancing around in my head for an AWESOME web design! I have looked and looked for a web design that matches my vision, that perhaps some like minded soul has created , without success. What is a girl to do? Teach herself HTML and CSS! It's really not that hard, well not yet... Here is a nine photo grid I created as part of my assignment:

The Puggy Bunch

You have the Brady Bunch theme song in your head now, don't ya? You're welcome. How did I do it?

BBQ Cheddar Crusted Chicken

Here is a quick recipe for chicken that everyone in our family really likes. Don't let the mayo keep you from trying this recipe. Three out of four Fitzpatricks HATE mayo but 4 out of 4 give this recipe a thumbs up!

Prep: 10 mins

Cook time: 30 mins
Servings: 4 to 5

1/2 cup of Mayo or Miracle Whip
1 ounce of Shredded Cheddar
2 TBSP of BBQ Sauce
4 Boneless Chicken Breasts (1.5 lbs)
5 tsp of Crushed Cheez-its

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Combine mayo, cheese and barbecue sauce in medium bowl. Arrange chicken on baking sheet. Evenly top with mayonnaise mixture, then sprinkle with cheez-its.
  3. Bake 30 minutes or until chicken is thoroughly cooked.
  4. Drizzle a little BBQ sauce across the top
  5. Enjoy!

Try it and tell me what you think!

Polka Dotted Pen Holder

I made this little polka dotted tin bucket holder to hang off of the bulletin board this weekend. I had a ton of pine 1x2's from my project with Sandra plus I also got to use my two impulse purchase items-- tin pails from the Target Dollar section and clip pins from Pick your Plum. What do you think?
Bulletin Board to Creation Central!

Clips from Pick your Plum. Buckets from  Target.

So nice and tidy!

Have you ever been sucked into PYP, the Target Dollar Section or found a creative use for scrap lumber? I'd love to hear about it!

I linked up with the Sawdust Showdown, Check out some of the other projects!
I linked with with Show Me What you Got. Awesome projects there!
I linked with Wait 'til your father gets home, cute spring projects ideas there! Go see...

Troubleshooting your Furnace, When to call a Pro

Reader John Hopper asks "What do you do if your furnace runs and runs but no heat comes out? What would cause this? Is it an easy fix or do you need a repairman?" Here are five things that you can check before you call in a professional.

Is the pilot light lit?

Yes it is a simple question and it's a simple solution. Check this first and you just might save yourself from having to do anything else!  The location of the pilot is usually at the bottom of the unit, behind the door.

Great air filters!

Check your filter.

Has it been changed recently? A dirty filter can prevent the heat from reaching the rest of the house. If you have a combo Furnace/Ac Unit it's a good idea to change the filter every single month, even if it does not look dirty. If it's just a furnace, change the filter throughout the time period that you use it and be sure to change out your AC filter when you use that unit! Many people will check the filter, see that it is not dirty and leave it in there. Bad idea. You can get filters for $ and avoid spending $$$ for repairs caused by a dirty system.
